Someone Just Became an Instant Billionaire From the Lotto and People Are Understandably Jealous

For one Massachusetts resident, their life has just gone from 0 to 100 real quick.

A lucky woman has just scored herself a yuuuge $US759 million (that's about $AUD960 million) from the Powerball after all of her numbers were chosen; something that probably has the chance of about one in 460 million of happening.

Mavis Wanczyk, a mother of two adult children who has been working in a hospital for 32 years, publicly came forward to claim her life-changing prize after Powerball revealed someone had won the jackpot on their website.

Then, she immediately quit her job (too right!).

Wanczyk told reporters she "wanted to get this over and done with, and then everyone would leave me alone." That's fair. I imagine a lot of distant family members and very-old friends have come out of the woodwork since hearing the news to "re-connect" with her.

"I said: 'I know it's never going to be me; it's just a pipe dream,'" Wanczyk said. Boy, was she wrong.

The salty people of Twitter, however, were not so pleased.

She's made no mention of how she'll be spending her money and she damn-well doesn't have to. Good for her.

I guess, for the rest of us, we'll just be over here in the corner, fumbling through life.
