So, The Rock Might Actually, Officially Be a 2020 Election Candidate Now

You might have laughed when you first heard Donald Trump was interested in running for president.

Now look where we are.

The next in line for celebrities who are interested in putting their hand up to be POTUS is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who is most famous for being a beefcake wrestler-turned-Hollwood actor.

Well, this dream (or nightmare) just became one step closer to a reality after some funny dude registered The Rock as a candidate with the Federal Election Commission. This essentially means that if (or when) Johnson does decide to launch his campaign, he already has a committee and campaign ("Run The Rock 2020") set-up and ready to go if he chooses to use them.

According to a poll in May, if Johnson ran in the 2020 election against Trump, it's pretty likely he'd actually win.

If we've learnt anything from Arnold Schwarzenegger, it's that action heroes can, indeed, be politicians, so it's not so far-fetched to imagine The Rock running.

However, while the speculation is all fun and games, the thought of another celebrity running for POTUS is a little bit alarming considering how the current one's going.

A lot can change in three years and we're just hoping for a change in candidate quality.
