Screamo Fans Plan "Wall of Death" When The Veronicas Play "Untouched" at Good Things Fest

Don't even talk about the consequence.

If you did a double take while scanning the line-up for screamo fest Good Things—wondering why pop twins The Veronicas are playing beside Parkway Drive, Violent Soho and Karnivool—you just haven’t been paying attention.

As all patriotic Aussies have known for fifteen years, Jess and Lisa Origliasso are metal; always have been, always will be. Listen to "4ever", the opening track from their debut album; or the demonic chorus on "Hook Me Up"; or, I dunno, the time they performed covered in blood at the ARIAs.

Though she didn’t need to, Jess went one step further to prove her screamo bona fides, tweeting a supercut of her banshee screeches.

She also promised a screamo version of their timeless 2007 hit, "Untouched".

In a delightful twist, rather than complaining about the placement of the all-female outfit on the line-up (as has been an unfortunate tradition for most other festivals), the screamo community has embraced The Veronicas, with fans creating a Facebook event to start a "wall of death" in their honour.

For those not sure what a "wall of death" entails, it’s basically when a line is formed to rush and merge with a mosh pit. Here's an artist's rendition:

And yes, the Ronnies are on board:

As of this writing, almost 3,000 punters say they’re going to the event in Melbourne on 6 December, and a further 7,000 are interested. Do you hear that, Sydney and Brisbane? Give ‘em, give ‘em, give ‘em whatcha got.

The Veronicas/Good Things Fest hits Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on Friday 6 December, Sydney’s Centennial Park on Saturday 7 December, and Brisbane’s Showgrounds Sunday 8 December.

Get ready.
