Scientists Created a Headless Robot Dog Named SpotMini, Because Our Nightmares Need More Fuel

Love dogs, but wish they were robotic, headless and more spider-like?
Robotics company Boston Dynamics have answered the prayers of a very specific subset of people by giving us SpotMini, a headless robot dog with spindly arachnid legs.

Boston Dynamics unveiled the new-look SpotMini with a 24-second teaser that is both cute and also the most horrifying thing you will see all week.
They first introduced their unholy creation back in 2016, but back then, he had a weird snapping face and an elongated neck. It is perhaps the first time in human history that “removing the head” has made an animal slightly more adorable.
SpotMini is effectively a shrunken version of BD’s Spot, their first attempt at making a 'robotic-good-boy' for the common household. The company, owned by Google-parent Alphabet, also created the BigDog (which is more of a pack-mule, intended to carry gear during combat) and the human-esque ATLAS.
Needless to say, when humankind is replaced by roaming armies of headless dogs and anthropomorphised cyborgs, you know who to blame.
Sophia Robot will be so pleased.
