"Riverdale" Star Falls Asleep at the Wheel After a Long Day on Set

The star of Riverdale has gotten into a minor car accident after falling asleep at the wheel following a long day of shooting.
KJ Apa, the actor behind Riverdale's Archie, has reportedly crashed into a light pole after falling asleep at the wheel. Thankfully, he sustained only minor injuries and no one else was affected by the crash.
The Hollywood Reporter alleged that shooting on the Riverdale set regularly lasts until the early morning and that the actors aren't provided with the option of transport or nearby accommodation.
Warner Bros. Television issued a statement to the Hollywood Reporter stating that their allegations are false.
"First and foremost, we are extremely grateful that KJ Apa was uninjured during his recent accident," the statement read.
"Secondarily, we want to specifically address the characterization that conditions on the set of Riverdale are of concern.
"On the day of the accident, KJ worked 14.2 hours. The previous day he worked 2.5 hours, and the day before that he worked 7.7 hours. KJ has repeatedly been informed about making production aware if he is tired or feels unsafe, and if so, either a ride or hotel room will be provided for him.
"Productions adhere to the Screen Actors Guild–mandated turnaround time of 12 hours from wrap time to next day call time for cast members."
If there's a moral to the story, it's this: Don't drive tired, no matter how tempting it may be. Call a friend or a taxi or stay in a nearby hotel. All it takes is one mistake.
