Rihanna and Her Brand Savage X Fenty Are in Hot Water for False Advertising

We love Rihanna, but some serious apologies have to be made.
According to The Fashion Law, Rihanna’s fashion brand Savage X Fenty is to pay over 1 million dollars to settle in a consumer protection lawsuit.

While we adore Rihanna, we’re shook. It seems the brand was wrongfully subscribing its consumers to a payment plan without their consent.
When a consumer would make a purchase from the brand, they would unknowingly be signed up to a $50 subscription.

Soon enough, the public began to realise they were being wrongfully charged and since then California has tightened up on their laws to prevent this from happening again.

The complaint was to address that the company had not been receiving the consent of consumers for automatic renewal charges and falsely advertising the ability to use story credit.
As a result, Savage X Fenty is to pay 1 million in civil penalties, $50,000 in investigative costs and $150,000 in restitution.

While we will always love the true queen Rihanna, we do hope that Savage X Fenty learns from this mistake.
