So far, this is all the deets we have on the new season, so it’s not yet clear when it’ll be back on screens, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for 2022.
Ricky told GoldDerby that he’s not giving anything about the plot away just yet, but there are hopes that Tony could enter a new relationship.
"Well, no spoilers," he told the publication.
If you haven’t yet caught the British dark-comedy show before, it’s a pretty grim story with a funny silver lining.
Following the life of Tony (Gervais), after the death of his wife Lisa (Kerry Godliman), the widower believes that there is nothing left to live for now that his partner has passed.
After failing to take his own life, Tony decides that instead of punishing himself, he would rather live long enough to punish the world and everyone in it by saying and doing whatever he wants, unfiltered.
This means a whole lot of uninhibited thought, rudeness, honesty and a general not giving a damn attitude from Tony.
The series quickly shot to popularity for it's raw relatability and quick, sharp humour. It has a rating of 73 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.
You can catch up on both Season 1 and 2 on Netflix now, but be warned, there may be tears.
After Life is rated MA15+ for mature audiences.
