PSA: More PS5 Stock Is Coming to Australian Stores This Week

*Dramatically shoves people out of our way.*

Big news for PlayStation fans in Australia, with reports saying that Aussie retailers are set to get more PlayStation 5 stock this week.

Remain calm, breathe, then frantically scramble to get one.

First reported on the PS5 Stock Alerts Australia Twitter account and then by Press Start, Aussie stores JB Hi-Fi, EB Games, Amazon, Harvey Norman, Big W and Target all look to be on the receiving end of some PS5 shipments.

Although, for each of these retailers there are long waitlists for the console. So, if you haven’t put your name down for one already, you best pick up the phone and start calling to secure a spot on the waitlist.

This new shipment could not come sooner as Aussie gamers have endured a PS5 stock drought since the last shipment landed in Early March and sold out very quickly.

Press Start reported that the long gap in shipments was likely due to Chinese New Year celebrations stopping production.

You will have to be quick to get your hands on one; Press Start are saying they have it on good authority that the shipment is the same size as previous PS5 shipments, which sold out within hours of arriving in stores.

Sony’s sales figures for the PS5 were released at the start of the year, revealing that they sold a mammoth 4.5 million consoles during their launch. Now, that figure sits at around 5.2 million.

To put into perspective how popular the console is, the PS5 has outsold the lifetime sales of the Nintendo Wii U, PS Vita and SEGA Dreamcast. That’s freakin’ impressive.

Here’s hoping that Sony ramp up production of the PS5 soon and get more than one shipment to Australia.

If you’re hunting for a PlayStation 5, good luck.
