Poor Snake Goes to Prison Rehab After Becoming Addicted to Ice

A snake has been sent to a rehabilitation clinic in a Sydney prison for ice addiction treatment.
The jungle python was found in an ice lab after a police raid. ABC News spoke to Ian Mitchell, a senior overseer at a Sydney correctional complex, who explained that the poor creature had absorbed the drug through its skin while in the residence.
He explained that the python was more confused than usual when they picked it up from the raid.
"It just takes time for the drug to leave the snake's system, but through our assistance, we managed to calm it down after several months and bring it back to its routine feeding patterns," he said to the ABC.

It’s not the only animal that has been taken to the rehabilitation centre at Berkshire Park's John Morony Correctional Complex.
Animals such as bearded dragons that have been involved in criminal cases are often taken to the rehab centre until they can be given to a new owner.
The centre also helps to give the prison's inmates a chance to interact with animals and gain a certificate in animal care.
The power of (mostly) cute animals is astonishing.
