Technically, every day is cheeseburger day, but only tomorrow (18 September) is National Cheeseburger Day.

As such, McDonald's will celebrate by giving away 200,000 of those cheesy bad boys for free.

No, you didn't just imagine that sentence in a hunger-hallucination. On this, the holiest of burger-themed holidays, you can walk away with one of 200,000 free cheeseburgers. That's 100,000 more than Macca's gave away in 2017. Truly, you should forget everything you thought you knew about National Cheeseburger Day celebrations.

The 2018 giveaway technically begins from midnight tonight (17 September), because, as you may recall, McDonald's no longer denies you cheeseburgers at breakfast. To get your freebie, download the mymacca's app and place an online order (redeeming your free cheeseburger via 'My Rewards') until stocks last.

There's a limit of one per customer, tragically, and anyone under the age of 14 needs to be accompanied by a parent or carer to redeem theirs in-store. You also can't use McDelivery to have the free cheeseburger sent to your house, because c'mon, you gotta put in a little effort.
