The OG Wiggles Have Announced An 18+ Aussie Tour With DZ Deathrays and Polish Club

We’re about to throw it back to “Big Red Car”.

Calling all adult uni students: are you looking for a dose of nostalgia?

Well we’ve got exactly what you might be searching for ‘cos the original Wiggles have announced a wild adults-only Aussie tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic band.

Partnering with Australian legends DZ Deathrays and Polish Club (yes, they’re defs an Aussie band despite the name), the OG Wiggles are set to toot toot, chugga chugga all over Oz for the second time.

While it’s not the children’s band’s first rodeo, this new tour is set to be total pandemonium with the best of Aussie hard rock mixed with our fave childhood bangers. “Fruit salad” anyone?

Called 'The OG Wiggles Reunion Tour', Anthony Field, Murray Cook, Jeff Fatt and Greg Page will tour the country with very special Saturday night 18+ shows. We’re also set to see cameos from some of our favourite extra characters like Captain Feathersword, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus.

“All of those children who loved The Wiggles in the 90s are now adults who love the nostalgia and fun from that time in their lives. This night is for the grown-ups and is a chance to bring back some of that genuine, high-spirited liveliness again. We can’t wait to relive those childhood memories and dance the night away to some of the favourite old-school tunes,” Jeff (the OG Purple Wiggle) said in a statement.

“It will be The Wiggles as you remember and love them, but we’ll all have a bit more grey hair... and there’s a bar. We’ll be playing all your favourite songs, and put on a show you won’t forget,” added (The OG Red Wiggle) Murray.

The tour will span over seven shows between February and May in 2022, starting in Darwin. Here are all the tour dates and locations:

  • Saturday 12 February 2022: Darwin Entertainment Centre, Darwin NT.
  • Saturday 19 February 2022: MyStateBank Arena, Hobart TAS.
  • Saturday 12 March 2022: Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne VIC.
  • Saturday 09 April 2022: RAC Arena, Perth WA.
  • Saturday 23 April 2022: Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney NSW.
  • Saturday 30 April 2022: Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Brisbane QLD.
  • Saturday 07 May 2022: Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Adelaide SA.

Yesterday, the Wiggles also announced the departure of Yellow Wiggle favourite, Emma Wiggle.

On Monday, the performer confirmed that she would be retiring from the group to spend more time at home and work on other projects.

“Like many people around the world, the pandemic has given me time to reflect on what is important in life,” Emma Wiggle said in a statement.

“For me, that means spending more time at home, something that I didn’t realise I was missing out on being away eight months of the year on tour, but something that I have really cherished over the last 18 months.

“I am also really looking forward to devoting more time and energy on completing my PhD that incorporates my ongoing passion for sign language, dance and film editing, and to having more time to work with the Deaf community.”

Emma is set to be replaced by Tsehay Hawkins, a young performer just recently announced as a member of Fruit Salad TV, The Wiggles spin-off show.

While the news of Emma leaving has left us devo, the revelation of the OG Wiggles tour is enough to cure our sadness.

You can buy tickets to the OG Wiggles Reunion Tour on Ticketek from Friday 22 October at 4 pm local time or 6 pm local time in Melbourne and Hobart.
