No More Superhero Movies

No more superhero movies? What a strange idea.
Am I asking Hollywood to stop creating fantastical people who far exceed the reality of humanity and give girls all over the globes high hopes, only to be shattered?
Yes. Yes I am.
To begin with, I feel like I have seen about 100 Batman movies. Now that I think about it, the same can be said for Superman. How many different spin-offs featuring Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, and everyone else from the Marvel and DC Comics canon have I seen? Too many, that’s how many.
From phony movies to kids TV shows to bad memorabilia, the same set of superheroes have been reused over and over and over. And you know what? I'm sick of watching different actors in the same movie doing the same old thing. I'm sick of knowing how it's gonna end.
Hollywood, make something new! And I don't mean Arrow, where a guy with a different name and weapon does the same thing Batman does. I mean make something original. I know people say there is nothing new under the sun, but come on, you could at least try right?
We don't need to look beyond our own kind to find acts of bravery and heroism enough for a movie screen. Hollywood can cook up a story just as amazing without adding X-Ray vision and amazing hair. I don't know about you but I think we've wasted enough time day dreaming about the impossible. Peter Parker will never get amazing powers from a mutant spider’s bite. He'll die... from the mutant spider’s bite. An alien baby with super human powers will never crash on earth, be raised as a human and grow up to become the infamous Superman. I'm sorry Lois Lane, but he's just not coming.
Next time I go to the movies to watch an action movie, I want to see a real person, with real flaws, in a movie with a plausible plot line. I want to watch something that gives me hope for humanity instead of the hope that a mysterious and sexy man in a mask will save me next time I stupidly take the shortcut down a side alley and get mugged. Let's lay aside the fantasy of superheroes: I want to hear about the real heroes, with nothing super to their name; just the sweat on their brow and the extraordinary things they did simply by being human.
