Don't Panic: Nick Kyrgios Is Sticking With Tennis Australia For The Davis Cup

Nick Kyrgios has pledged his loyalty to Tennis Australia following the expulsion of team-mate Bernard Tomic over the weekend from the Australian Davis Cup Team.

Last week, at a Wimbledon press conference soon after his defeat at the hands of Novak Djokovic, Tomic accused Team Australia of not having his back.

“There has been [a] lack of support towards me; there has been no respect I think towards me,” he said.

“I didn't get one phone call from Tennis Australia. ‘Can we help you, Bernard? Can we do this? Do you need something?’ Nothing. No phone calls were there."

He even took a serve at former great Pat Rafter, Tennis Australia’s current Director of Performance.

"What's [Pat Rafter's] job? He doesn't know what he's doing. It's crazy. Meanwhile, he's charging me for balls. Charging me for balls and court at his own arena nine days before [a competition]. What's he doing?"

Though we kind of want to know more about that whole ball-charging racket, Tennis Australia only responded by describing Tomic's behavior as “unacceptable” and booting him from the upcoming Davis Cup team.

Though Tomic claimed Kyrgios would sit out the Davis Cup in solidarity, the 22-year-old Kyrgios took to Facebook to restate his allegiances.

Australia plays Kazakhstan for the Davis Cup Quarter-Final in Darwin on July 17.
