Movie & TV News: Bridgerton, Captain America and Avatar: The Last Airbender

Is Sebastian Stan in this new Captain America movie? Asking for a friend 👀

There’s a lot kicking off in the entertainment world.

From the latest movie to new releases of our fave shows, here’s the conversations which have been buzzing this week.

We got our first look at “Bridgerton” Season 4 – and it’s based on Cinderella.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Bridgerton Season 3

Dearest gentle reader, it seems Bridgerton Season Four will be another eventful season as us hungry audience members have gotten our first look into Benedict Bridgerton’s love story.

Our favourite bisexual Bridgerton brother (not to be confused with our favourite bisexual Bridgerton sister) finally has his time in the spotlight.

We’ve seen Benedict date other people in the first three seasons but none of them have stuck.

Now we know this is finally the season he will fall in love. His love interest is Sophie Baek (played by Yerin Ha) and the two of them find themselves meeting at a Masquerade Ball. Ugh swoon.

This season is a loose retelling on Cinderella. Benedict has no intention of settling down until he meets Lady Silver. However, Lady Silver is actually Sophie - a maid with some secrets.

“Captain America” is back.

Post Avengers Endgame Marvel and superhero fans are on the edge of their seats to see what the MCU are going to do in their new phase.

Captain America: Brave New World picks up after Steve Rogers retired his shield and passed it on to best mate, Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon (Anthony Mackie).

In this film, Thaddeus Ross has been elected President of the United States and he’s sent the new Captain America and the new Falcon (Danny Ramirez) to stop the sale of illegal items in Oaxaca, Mexico.

The problem is these items have been stolen by the Serpent Society, led by villain Sidewinder.

It’s all kicking off and there’s even the first live-action portrayal of the  Red Hulk, last hinted at in the 2008 live-action Marvel film, The Incredible Hulk. You can catch Captain America: Brave New World in cinemas with our $12.50 student movie tickets from HOYTS.

There’s a new sequel to “Avatar: The Last Airbender” on the way.

Fans of Aang and Korra can celebrate because there is a new Avatar and she’s an Earthbender.

The new series called Avatar: Seven Havens will take place after The Legend of Korra with Avatar co-creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko returning to develop it!

The series will consist of 26 episodes. According to a media release, it’s set in a world “shattered by a devastating cataclysm”. Despite discovering she’s the new Avatar, in this new world it means she will be hunted not revered.

Casting will be announced at a later date and there’s no news of a premiere date yet.
