The “Wicked” Questions we Need Answered in “Wicked: For Good”

These keep us up at night 🩷💚
WARNING: This article contains spoilers for “Wicked” the movie and “Wicked” the stage play.
We have an announcement to make!
The release of Wicked: For Good is inching closer and closer and we seriously can’t wait. We’ve only waited an entire year to see this John M. Chu sequel.
Honestly, we might cry in the cinemas, we have no shame about it.
If you’re on the edge of your seat like us, you can buy your discounted student movie tickets and secure your seat to the movie musical of the year.
The wait for Wicked: For Good is nearly over! The movie is coming out on 20 November 2025 and if you have questions, boy so do we.
What will happen to Fiyero?
In the musical we see Fiyero get turned into a scarecrow (so sad). But it’s not clear if the same will happen in the film.
At the end of the last film, Fiyero (played by People’s sexiest man in the world 2025, Jonathan Bailey) leaves Shiz University when he hears Elphaba has been deemed the Wicked Witch of the West.
But from the trailer it looks like him and Glinda (Ariana Grande) get married? It’s all very confusing.
Not to mention, fans of the musical will know Fiyero gets turned into a scarecrow by one of Elphaba’s (Cynthia Erivo) spells accidentally. So, will we get to see the Jonathan Bailey as a scarecrow?
Does Glinda and Elphaba’s friendship fall apart?
While besties Elphaba and Glinda parted on a positive note in the first film, it’s clear their opposing beliefs could easily put their friendship to the test.
It’s hard for them because Elphaba desperately wants Glinda to do the right thing. And Glinda looks like she knows what the right thing is but is too caught up in her status.
From the trailer however, it does not look like these two friends are still best friends. In fact, things look a little cold between them.
Here’s hoping that if they had a friendship break-up, it can be resolved in the second film.
How deep is the connection between Elphaba and the Wizard?
Theatre kids will know of the lore between the wizard and Elphaba. So look away now if you’ve never seen the musical play and don’t want any spoilers.
But the wizard is actually Elphaba’s real father.
In the musical, Elphaba never discovers this. Glinda is the one who realises this as she recognises Elphaba's bottle of green elixir and confronts the wizard. This is why Elphaba was born green. It’s also the reason she was born with such magical powers because she’s half Oz and half human.
It’ll be interesting to see whether in Wicked: For Good this secret is revealed to Elphaba, or if, like in the musical, Glinda remains the only one who knows.
What will the ending look like?

We’re ngl, we just want a happy ending for everyone!
But we doubt that’s going to happen.
Wicked ended on such a dramatic, tear-jerking cliffhanger that we’re hoping the end of Wicked: For Good ties everything up nicely in a bow.
Given how major the ending is in the musical, we can only dream of a beautiful, cinematic ending.
