Netflix Announces “Tiger King 2” Will Drop This Year and We’re So Ready for the Madness

Joe Exotic vs. Carole Baskin round two.

Overnight, Netflix casually dropped a bomb on us all: Tiger King 2 will be coming out later this year.

I’ll give you all a moment to let that news settle in… Okay, moment over.

That’s right, the show that the entire world binged while in lockdown is coming back for a second season and Netflix has promised, “more madness and mayhem.”

For now, details about what the second season will be about are being kept hush-hush by the streaming giant, but Joe Exotic will be returning—albeit from behind bars, serving a 17-year sentence for putting a hit on Carole Baskin.

Honestly, if you haven’t watched the Tiger King, you really should do yourself a favour and smash it out in a weekend. You won’t believe these people exist.

Speaking of those people, Baskin is apparently not happy about a second season of the hit documentary.

“I wouldn’t call [directors] Eric Goode or Rebecca Chaiklin true documentarians. I mean, that was just a reality show dumpster fire,” Baskin told Variety.

After the first Tiger King, Baskin said the directors tried to, “clear the air” with her, possibly about her portrayal in the show, but Baskin told the pair to, “lose my number because that was not at all what we had agreed we were working on.”

I wonder if she is referring to the subplot about the disappearance of her husband and her alleged involvement?

Despite her disgust at her portrayal, she did admit she would watch Tiger King 2 so that she can tell the public the truth.

“Whatever Tiger King 2 does, I’ll have the same reaction from the public that has been misled. I’ll have to spend a lot of time explaining to them how they have been misled, which means I have to watch it,” Baskin continued.

“My phone started ringing off the hook for three months straight [after Tiger King], people cursing at me and telling me that they wanted to burn the place to the ground.”

Regardless of whether she is guilty or not, phone calls like that are not on. Come on, people.

Tiger King 2 is due out later this year on Netflix. You can catch up on the first season of Tiger King on Netflix now.
