Muggle Student Uses Made-Up Harry Potter Word in Exam; J.K. Rowling Kinda Approves

A teacher in the U.K. has (savagely) reprimanded their student on Twitter for using a word made-up by J.K. Rowling.

The student was asked to explain what sweat is; they used a word that does not exist among mere muggles.

The exam question asked: “Sweat glands in the skin release sweat. Explain how sweat can cool the body down.”

To which, the student responded: “The sweat disapparates off the body as the cool air gets to the skin.”

The word the student was probably looking for was 'evaporate', so while marking, the teacher left some appropriate feedback.

“You’ve been reading too much Harry Potter! Evaporates!” the teacher wrote before Tweeting at J.K. Rowling, blaming her for the error.

J.K. Rowling retweeted the now-private Tweet which is Twitter-speak for giving it the seal of approval.

The Pottersphere also had their say on the matter.
