Need Some End of Year Inspo? Meet These Students with Big Ideas

Some of these students have ‘UGE ideas🤩

This article is presented in partnership with Samsung Solve for Tomorrow.

In between classes, studying, working and general day-to-day life, sometimes we can feel a little uninspired sometimes.

If you've ever just felt blah when it comes to everything, don't stress.

We spoke to some of the students who participated in our Samsung Solve for Tomorrow workshops in Sydney who told us about some of their big ideas in the STEM field. And bruh, we were inspired.

One student said he was interested in creating electric tiles to create energy.

“We’re using the kinetic energy of people moving around the city, people step on tiles and basically generate electricity,” he said.

“So that encourages people to be more sustainable and actually look into more sustainable energy.”

Another student was inspired by a real-life issue his friends experienced while they were in school together.

“I know a few people at my school who used to struggle getting food from home,” he said.

“And my idea is to incorporate an ad system into our app, we have an app that students and parents often use, and put some ads at the bottom or at the top where they can see them.

“We could generate some revenue, which we could distribute back to the students who need it. And maybe I could advance this further into like uniforms or school fees, or just something that will help the students themselves.”

WOW. We stan🙌

If you’ve been inspired by these ideas (how could you not), you can enter your own big idea in Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow competition.

If you are a young Aussie aged 14 to 24 with a big idea, you can submit your project and go into the running for the grand prize of $10,000 and the opportunity to take your idea to the next level.
