Matthew Perry (AKA Chandler Bing) Has Major Beef With Keanu Reeves For A Really Strange Reason

Wait ... what?
When I opened up my computer this morning, this isn’t what I expected to see on my trending page.
In his new memoir, Matthew Perry, who played Chandler on Friends, has taken aim at everyone’s favourite celebrity, Keanu Reeves.

Twice in his new book, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Things, Perry seemingly comes after Reeves in a real random fashion, as he laments the deaths of 90s stars River Phoenix, Chris Farley and Heath Ledger.
“River was a beautiful man, inside and out — too beautiful for this world, it turned out. It always seems to be the really talented guys who go down. Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?”
If you’re a little confused – don’t worry. So are we.

It’s kind of unclear what Perry’s point is here. Is Keanu Reeves untalented? Should he have been the one to tragically pass away? We need answers Matthew.
He again takes aim later in the book when talking about Chris Farley’s death.
“I punched a hole through Jennifer Aniston’s dressing room wall when I found out. Keanu Reeves walks among us.”
It would have been weird if Chandler Bing lamented the tragic passing of a 90s star by comparing him to Keanu Reeves once. But twice? Now that's just scary.
The internet of course loves Keanu Reeves, and have been quick to jump to his defence.
Can't stop laughing at the fact that whenever someone dies, Matthew Perry shrieks at the sky, "Keanu Reeves still walks among us!"

Neither Perry nor Reeves have addressed the comments.
The rest of Perry’s new book covers his time on Friends, his struggles with addiction and fame and his seemingly odd reflections on celebrities and culture.
Officially releasing on November 1, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Things is already controversial, and is sure to be discussed a whole lot more.
