Many Believe the "Australian Ninja Warrior" Finale Was Not What We Deserved

Who'da thunk it? A game show with no winners.

Well, that's what Australian Ninja Warrior (ANW) served up last night. No winners. Zero. Zilch. Nada. But to put it in perspective, its American counterpart has only had a single winner in eight seasons.

The final was marred with other incidences such as an accidental indication that contestant John Dorrington had won before the show ended and for the eyebrow-raising appearance of the now-deceased Johann Ofner on the finalist leaderboard.

Ofner, a stuntman, died after the end of the ANW's filming in December last year. He was on the set of a music video for Bliss N' Eso when he was killed by a live firearm.

But most complaints were directed at the ridiculous time limits placed on contestants, which ultimately resulted in no winners, and probably no chicken dinners.

It's now confirmed that the prize money will roll over to next season.

But it wasn't enough to quell the rage. People, like always, took to Twitter to let their thoughts be known.

Despite the mildly frustrated crowd, the show brought in record-breaking ratings.

Channel Nine has released data showing that after last night's finale, the average viewing audience was about 2.454 million per episode. It outperformed the 2016 Olympic Games, which had an average of 1.409 million.

With those numbers, I think we can definitely expect ANW to occupy our screens for some time longer.

If you're so inclined, you have until September 3 to apply for Season Two.
