"Australian Ninja Warrior" Outrages Viewers After Deaf Contestant Disqualified

Viewers have expressed outrage on social media over an incident on last night's Australian Ninja Warrior.
The incident in question involved a deaf contestant, Paul Cashion, who was disqualified in the first section of the course when his foot slipped into the water.
Due to his disability, however, he could not hear the buzzer indicating that he had been disqualified and continued on to the next section.
It was only when he looked at his stepson that he became aware that he couldn't continue.
People were not happy that the show did not put measures in place to assist Cashion (like, not using a sound to signal his disqualification) as well as how they focused the footage of his crushing disappointment when he was made aware.
Why didn't you make the notification for disqualification hearing impaired friendly?

The show, which launched in Australia on July 9, has received huge ratings among both males and females in the primarily female-dominated viewing time.
It sees contestants take on a challenging obstacle course where they must complete as many of the obstacles as possible in the quickest time.
