But don’t just take it from us – we spoke to Ainsley Mann, third-year paramedicine student and a Student Services Hub team member at Western, about why you should head down to Open Day.

Why should students join Western?
Ainsley: “I’ve found Western to be an extremely supportive university that prioritises one-on-one catered support from the start of your university experience all the way to graduation.
Our campuses and state of the art facilities really heighten your overall experience. The level of academic support and engagement throughout my degree really exceeded the expectations I had coming into university and was something that helped me thrive.
Western also offers a range of job opportunities for students while completing their studies to collaborate with like-minded students from different degrees.”

What will they get out of going to Open Day?
Ainsley: “Open Day can provide visitors with a lot of clarity regarding their course preferences and career pathways, either consolidating existing preferences, specifying multiple preferences, or enlightening undiscovered courses.
Attendees have the ability to network with academics, colleagues, fellow students, friends, and staff to accommodate any future needs.”
@westernsydneyu Now what babes? #1 in the world, again 🙆 #icespice #ohsheaonehitwonder #twohitwonder #westernsydneyuniversity ♬ Ice spice audio - ✞
What’s on the agenda for the day?
Ainsley: “There’s heaps on offer, with information sessions and one-on-one opportunities to speak with academics and students from our various Schools including School of Business, Nursing & Midwifery, Humanities, Engineering, Health Sciences, or any of our other amazing teams!
There will be plenty of fun with unique stalls, entertainment, and an even ice-skating rink.”

What’s your personal highlight for Open Day?
Ainsley: “I personally love witnessing the hustle and bustle throughout our vibrant Parramatta campuses and the community vibe that Western offers. I really enjoy networking with my fellow peers and academics but most importantly answering any questions prospective students have!"
How did Open Day help you begin your university journey?
Ainsley: “When I was in high school I attended Western’s Open Day with a lot of uncertainty and a few courses in mind including law, medicine, and criminology. When Open Day concluded, I walked away knowing my passion lied in healthcare, and Paramedicine became my first preference.
Fast-forward five years later and I have almost completed my studies in the Bachelor of Paramedicine and have absolutely found my passion and dream career thanks to Western’s Open Day.”
