Macca’s Is Giving Away 250,000 Free Quarter Pounders Today

At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country? Yes!

To celebrate International Burger Day—which is definitely a real holiday held on 28 May and not some kind of arbitrary date dedicated to slinging steamed hams—McDonald’s is giving away 250,000 free Quarter Pounders.

(Yes, maths wizards, that’s approximately 62,500 pounds of burger!)

If you want to collect your free Quarter Pounder before stock runs out, simply redeem it via the mymacca’s app. It’s a 'one per person' situation, so you can’t simply ask a mate to collect yours.

Last week, Macca's announced they'll be cooking their meat patties a little bit differently from now on, searing them for exactly 40 seconds to ensure peak juiciness. They're also apparently cooking onions on the same grill as the meat as well, to add more flavour. Australia is the first nation in the world to trial these changes.

Understandably, the new-and-improved Quarter Pounders will be literally flying out the doors today, so make sure you order yours ASAP. Otherwise, it’s gonna be a very long 364 days until the next International Burger Day!
