Logan Paul Wore a $1 Million Pokémon Card to His Boxing Match Against Mayweather Just ‘Cos

Oh, and they fought or something.

In case you missed it—and we don’t blame you if you did—YouTuber/boxer/man struggling for social relevance Logan Paul had a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather over the weekend.

The fight itself was nothing to write home about, but it’s what Paul wore around his neck before and after the fight that has drawn our attention.

Protected in a plastic case surrounded by diamonds and hanging from a blingin’ necklace that would make even the most progressive of jewelers shed a tear is a rare Charizard Pokémon card.

Attention necklace wearers: you’ve been doing it wrong.

Well, the YouTuber certainly knows how to creatively flaunt his wealth to us plebs.

Paul spent $US150,000 on the card which eagle eyed viewers have pointed out is a rare first edition BGS 10 Charizard Pokémon holographic card.

In an interview following the fight, Paul explained how much the card means to him.

“It’s one of three in the world. It is my prized possession,” Paul said in the press conference.

“Ever since I got this graded at a ten, the momentum in my life has been crazy. It’s my good luck charm. I mean now, this is a million-dollar card, baby.”

Hate to admit it, but he’s not wrong. Pokémon card collecting went through a boom during COVID and Paul’s pride and joy has skyrocketed in value to a whopping $US250,000.

Throw in the fact that he wore it to the ring for his fight against Mayweather—one of the greatest boxers of all time—and this card might well just close on being “a million-dollar card” baby.

As for the fight between the two, fans were left bitterly disappointed as neither of them succeeded in knocking the other out with most people online claiming it more resembled competitive hugging than a boxing match.

We can’t help but agree.

That won’t bother Paul or Mayweather though as both are set to take home sizeable paydays, with the YouTuber pocketing $US20 million and the retired boxer taking home almost $US100 million.
