Streaming Study Sessions on Twitch Could Make You Up to $1,700 a Month

Young women in particular are making coin by studying on the streaming platform.

There’s an increasingly popular trend on Twitch called ‘study with me’ which involves—you guessed it—live streams of randoms with their heads in the books. And it turns out… It’s profitable!

Streamers such as @StudyTme and @anablanchu study live in front of thousands of people using the ‘Pomodoro method’, which involves studying for an hour at a time with 15-minute breaks in between.

During that break, the streamers chat with viewers about study tips, school and life in general. Belén (@Thewintergallery), explained to Insider "the best thing is the people, the community that's been created. I've made a lot of friends, even from Mexico, Argentina, and Costa Rica. We study together and take breaks together to talk about ourselves.”

Ana Blanca (@anablanchu) is a fifth-year medical student with over 46,000 followers on Twitch. She earns anywhere between $1,100 and $1,700 a month.

In case you’re wondering how this monetisation works—there’s a coupla ways. Mainly, it's through paid subscription revenue to the streamers’ channels, and from Donations and ‘Bit Cheers’ from their followers. Revenue can also come in through ads, sponsorships and merchandise.

And study content isn’t just happening on Twitch! Ana also has 82,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 85,000 on TikTok.

Popular study YouTubers include Thomas Frank, who pumps out great content about staying organised and focused. Ruby Granger also has great ‘study with me’ content akin to Twitch streams.
