The Lindt Café In Martin Place Was Vandalised Overnight

The site of the 2014 Sydney siege, Martin Place's Lindt Café, was vandalised overnight, mere months after its reopening.

According to the ABC, police were called to the café just after midnight, when its windows were found to have been smashed by a rock-throwing vandal.

Police said they are seeking a specific suspect, who they believe had targeted the building.

In December of 2014, the chocolate shop was seized by gunman Man Haron Monis, with 17 hostages trapped inside for 16 hours.

When the stand-off came to a close, Monis was killed, along with hostages Tori Johnson and Katrina Dawson.

Upon the café’s reopening on March 20, gold plaques devoted to Johnson and Dawson were placed on display.

UPDATE: Nine News reports the police have arrested a man for allegedly throwing rocks through the shop windows.
