Lindsay Lohan Has An Explanation For Her Bizarre New Accent (Which She's Calling "LiLohan")

You don’t know what you've got till it’s gone, and that’s especially true when it comes to Lindsay Lohan’s voice.

Lohan’s iconic, husky timbre is embedded in all our minds thanks to countless, repeat viewings of Mean Girls (okay, Herbie: Fully Loaded).

But Lindsay cares not for our memories. Yesterday, video footage of her speaking out front of her new nightclub (it’s called LOHAN because some brands can weather any storm) in Athens, Greece went viral. Why? Because of the speaking.

Lohan’s new accent was met by the world with a collective, “da fuh?”

Thankfully, the Daily Mail was on it, going straight to the source and asking Lohan if she was, what, South African now?

“Je ne sais pas,” she initially joked, meaning: “I don’t know.”

“It’s a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn,” she elaborated.

“I’ve been learning different languages since I was a child. I’m fluent in English and French can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian, and Arabic.”

Her parents have chimed in too, though, we wish we didn’t have to be reminded that Michael and Dina Lohan were a thing.

"Lindsay picks up languages like I pick up a coffee!" Michael Lohan told ET (the outlet, not the extra-terrestrial).

"I will tell you this, she's spoken other languages on the phone with me - languages I don't understand. I'll be on the phone with her and I'll hear her say something in fluent Farsi to a friend she's with."

"I raised Lindsay and all my children to constantly learn different languages and embrace different cultures," Dina added.

"Since Lindsay was a kid, she was speaking fluent Italian because my mother is Italian and would only speak to her in it. She taught herself how to speak French, Arabic, Hebrew and the list goes on. Lindsay has a very high IQ and is very intelligent and can pick up on any language in a minute. She has that gift."

Whatever the explanation, this seems harmless, if a little baffling. You just do you, Linds.
