LEGOLAND Is Melbourne-Bound

For years, Australians wanting to live out their dreams of being tiny, helmet-haired LEGO people have had to travel abroad for the pleasure. Sometimes even (gulp) to Florida.

No more.

Australia will get its very own LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in mid-2017. Cue the music.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Melbourne’s Chadstone shopping mall will house the amusement park (set to be around 2800 square meters in size).

It will mark the first “discovery centre” for LEGO in the southern hemisphere. There are nine in operation in North America, with several others to be found in Europe and Asia.

Apparently it’s designed specifically for “three-to-10 year olds” but expect to see that age limit ignored dramatically upon its opening.
