Lady Gaga "Takes the Power Back" After Revealing She's Had Her Own #MeToo Moment

Lady Gaga got emotional detailing her #MeToo experience.

During a speech at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards, Lady Gaga told the audience that her pantsuit was more than a simple fashion statement.

She explained that she did try on multiple dresses and outfits for the night but ultimately decided on an oversized suit to "take her power back."

"In this suit, I felt like me today. In this suit, I felt the truth of who I am well up in my gut," Lady Gaga began to say.

"As a sexual assault survivor by someone in the entertainment industry, as a woman who is still not brave enough to say his name, as a woman who lives with chronic pain, as a woman who was conditioned at a very young age to listen to what men told me to do, I decided today I wanted to take the power back.

"Today I wear the pants."

She later went on to explain that she was sexually assaulted about 13 years ago, at age 19, by someone in the music industry, and while she tried to tell powerful men, nobody helped her.

Of course, the powerful message didn't stop the meme-sters from having a quick laugh.

Catch Lady Gaga in her new film A Star Is Born when it's released in cinemas on 18 October.
