Kit Harington Admits He Was "Wrong" About Sexism "Towards Men"

Your problematic bae Kit Harington has apologised for that time he complained about sexism "towards men".
Back in 2016, Harington complained—not unreasonably—about being objectified as a result of his starring role in Game of Thrones.
"I like to think of myself as more than a head of hair or a set of looks," he argued.
Unfortunately, he took his complaints a step further and rankled the entire internet by adding, "there’s a sexism that happens towards men," perhaps forgetting about everything his female co-stars have to endure.

Cue a thousand Tweets saying the exact same thing: "You know nothing, Jon Snow."
Well, Harington has finally walked back those comments, a mere 17 months later.
Speaking to the Guardian, he clarified his meaning, saying, "I do think men can get objectified. I do feel I have been objectified in the past, sexually as well."
"Has that made me feel uncomfortable in the past? Yes. Do I think my position is the same as a woman's in society? No. They’re very different things, and I should have separated them. I was wrong."
Twitter can now go back to adoring Kit Harington and enjoying videos of him tormenting fiancée Rose Leslie with his own decapitated head.

In my opinion, he wasn't wrong at all. Sexism can be directed at men too, it saddens me to see him go under fire just for using the word "sexism" regarding men. Sexism means prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination on the basis of sex. Any sex. Granted sexism towards women is much more typical and widespread and we should definitely work towards eliminating that; however, acknowledging that men also experience sexism doesn't undermine that at all. Equality is about EVERYONE being equal. Just because one particular group experiences it more than another doesn't mean only they are entitled to speak out against sexism. Sexism is terrible no matter who it's directed at. It's good of him to clarify at least, though he shouldn't have had to at all.
