"Killing Eve" Will End After Season 4 and We Can't Deal Right Now

Don't stress fam, a spin-off is in the works.

It’s with a heavy heart that we must report that Killing Eve will end after its upcoming fourth season.

Please take a moment to emotionally process this news (and don't go completely Villanelle on us).

The series was renewed for its final season back in January 2020, but a certain global pandemic delayed filming of the spy-drama.

Since then, BBC America and AMC—the networks behind the series—announced on Tuesday that Season 4 would be Killing Eve’s last (we're sobbing too, don't worry).

Killing Eve star Sandra Oh reflected on her experience of being on the show telling Variety: “I’m so grateful for all cast and crew who have brought our story to life and to the fans who have joined us and will be back for our exciting and unpredictable fourth and final season.”

It feels like we're saying goodbye to an old friend.

Co-star Jodie Comer echoed Oh’s thoughts, reaching out to the loyal fanbase to thank them.

“Thank you to all the fans who’ve supported us throughout and come along for the ride,” she said.

“Although all good things come to an end, it’s not over yet. We aim to make this one to remember!”

We sure hope so, Jodie.

At this stage, it’s unclear why the show will end after S4. However, it's not all bad news, 'cos it turns out a spin-off show is also in the works.

The spin-off will reportedly explore the extensive world that the show creators built over the last four years.

There aren't any concrete deets on what a spin-off would be about, but we'll keep you updated.

Don’t expect to see Killing Eve on your TV any time soon though. Production is scheduled to start filming in June across the UK and Europe with a release date of 2022 expected.

So. Much. Waiting.

Of course, it provides a great opportunity if you haven’t seen the show to binge before next year. (Seriously, why haven’t you watched this yet? What have you been doing with your life?).

Sorry, that was an overreaction. We’re just passionate about these characters.

To bring you up to speed, Killing Eve is based on British author Luke Jennings’ Villanelle novels. The series follows British Intelligence agent Eve Polastri (Oh) who engages in an international game of cat and mouse with psychopathic assassin Villanelle (Comer).

Tell us you’re not interested in watching it now?

The series has been a critical success for BBC America and AMC, with Oh winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama Series, and Comer taking home an Emmy Award for her performance.

Beyond the accolades, the show has been a pioneer for fashion and costume design in television. You can check out some of the outfits from Season 2 here.

Catch-up on Killing Eve by streaming the first two seasons on Stan. You can watch Season 3 on ABC iview.
