Kanye Promises "We Not Going to Sleep" Until He Fixes "Jesus Is King"

Yeah, he missed another deadline.

Nearly 30 days ago, we wondered: "Will Kanye drop Jesus Is King today?"

A month later, we’re stuck wondering the same damn thing.

It really seemed like West was serious this time about releasing his long-delayed gospel album, given he preceded it with a characteristically gobsmacking interview with Zane Lowe on Beats1 Radio. (Key quote: "I am unquestionably, undoubtedly, the greatest human artist of all time.")

His Twitter account also promised it would be unveiled at midnight in the United States.

The man even visited Jimmy Kimmel Live to say "it's out now", pre-empting the show's late-night airing.

Of course, midnight came and went, and Jesus Is King failed to materialise. Meanwhile, his disappointed fans flooded twitter to make the exact same joke.

However, instead of leaving everyone in suspense, Ye followed up and informed us that he and his producers weren’t going to sleep until they fixed the mixes on three songs and gave us the album as promised.

A weary nation of Kanye fans—who have suffered so, so much these past few years—have no doubt raised their expectations once again.

Still, they should probably wait until they’re actually listening to the album on their devices before washing the clown paint off their faces. After all, he did this exact same thing with The Life of Pablo three years ago.

So, as Kanye-watch continues, you can pass a few minutes by watching the trailers for his upcoming IMAX film, also titled Jesus Is King, below.

Update: It's now available! Go forth and stream!
