John Cena Teases Fans About WWE Return on "The Tonight Show"

“I haven’t had my last match.”

Get ready to pop WWE fans ‘cos John Cena has confirmed that he is coming back to WWE to wrestle. Problem is, no one really knows when.

Speaking with Jimmy Fallon yesterday on The Tonight Show the 16-time WWE Champion said that he will be back in-between the ropes soon.

“I’ll definitely be back,” Cena told Fallon.

“I haven’t had my last match, and I can’t wait to have my next.”

Fallon quizzed him about his rumoured return after Cena posted an image of the WWE logo on his Instagram with no caption on 8 May, causing fans to go into overdrive about his return.

Side note: Cena’s Instagram account is one of the weirdest celebrity accounts going. Nothing he posts ever makes sense and he never writes captions. It really is one of life’s last unspoiled gifts.

Anyway, back to business. The Doctor of Thuganomics said that the post of the logo was merely him getting a little homesick from his first love.

“I was feeling rather nostalgic about the WWE and I just wanted to post the logo.”

Usually, I’d call BS on this ‘cos teasing a return to the ring is straight out of the WWE playbook, but considering Cena’s bizarre Instagram, posts of random logos really isn’t out of place so now I don’t know what to think. Well played, Cena.

All I know is Summerslam (WWE’s second biggest pay-per-view) is a month away and the timing of this is all too perfect.

Until then, you’re just gonna have to settle watching Cena on the big screen. You can see the wrestler-turned-actor in the newly released Fast and Furious 9 or in The Suicide Squad hitting cinemas in Australia on 5 August.
