It's Happening: Lady Gaga's New Single "Stupid Love" Is Arriving This Friday

We've never been so ready. 

For many months we have sat idly by our computer and phone screens waiting for Lady Gaga to release a song from her sixth studio album, otherwise known as LG6. She's trolled us, teased us, and even lied about potential album names. However, all can now be forgiven, because Gaga's new single "Stupid Love" will be released this week.

Gaga announced the news by posting a picture of a billboard featuring the song's title and artwork. 

The tune is slated for release this Friday 28 February at midnight ET, which means Aussies will be able to hear it on Friday from 4pm AEDT. 

Although, some of you may have already heard a snippet of the new single when it leaked back in January. In fact, stans have already decided that the track is an absolute bop, combining Gaga's soaring vocals and '80s synth. 

It's safe to say Gaga wasn't entirely pleased with the leak, tweeting this not-so-subtle message. 

There's been no word as to what Gaga's upcoming album will be called. While the internet has been referring to it as LG6, fans are beginning to explore other possible titles like Chromatica after seeing it written on the single artwork. 

This new record will be the first album Gaga has released since 2016's Joanne. For fans who were worried she was going to continue down the country-pop route, it looks like LG6 will be a return to her more traditional sound, more reminiscent of Born This Way. 

Gaga has remained pretty vague about the upcoming album, and even information about collaborators has been slim. Producer Bloodpop uploaded some footage of recording with her in the studio last year, while German producer/DJ Boys Noize is also rumoured to be involved.
