It Is So Decreed: Will Smith Has Dubbed Ben Simmons the "New Fresh Prince"

More like the Fitzroy Prince.

From West Philadelphia, born and raised, Will Smith has declared Melbourne’s own Ben Simmons the new Fresh Prince.

Simmons has not yet reacted to the royal declaration, probably because he’s chilling out, maxin’, relaxing all cool, and maybe shooting some b-ball outside of school.

In a video posted to his Instagram (featuring other, non-royal Philadelphians Kevin Hart and Lil Dicky), Smith rallies his hometown behind the Philadelphia 76ers, who are making a go at it in the NBA Playoffs.

During the clip, Smith says "the whole league might just get twist, turned upside down, with a new fresh prince coming to claim his throne," over footage of Simmons, 2016’s #1 draft pick.

Honestly, it still doesn’t quite make up for the time Philadelphia disrespected Simmons and Australia by massacring Four'N'Twenty pies, but it’s a start.
