Instagram Adds an Automatic Anti-Bullying Feature to Cancel Out That Toxicity In Your Life

Instagram's new feature will hopefully mean less toxicity.
Instagram has announced they will update a feature that allows you to automatically filter out any hate-filled and toxic comments left on your 'gram posts.
The feature, which was introduced last year, works with the use of artificial intelligence and targets phrases in English that are deemed 'hurtful' or 'offensive' to a person's appearance or character.
The filter is automatically turned on, but if you require, you're able to adjust it in the Settings section of your app.

Instagram's CEO, Kevin Systrom, wrote on the site's blog that Instagram was intended as a place for kindness.
"Since Mike and I founded Instagram, it’s been our goal to make it a safe place for self-expression and to foster kindness within the community," he said.
"This update is just the next step in our mission to deliver on that promise."
While it might not stop all bullying that occurs on the social media platform, any concerted efforts to block out the vile vomit that is spurted out in the comments section are always welcome.
