In 2016, You Will Finally Have A Bacon Emoji

Having finally answered calls to provide more diverse emojis, the Unicode Consortium is ready to unite the world again with their next set, the centerpiece of which is... wait for it... bacon.

Actually, bacon is just one of 38 new emojis to be debuted by Unicode in 2016, alongside a shark, a sliced avocado, a prince, a scooter and a pregnant woman. (The latter actually looks suspiciously like the original 'dancing woman'. There's a story there!)

According to Yahoo Tech, the consortium only approved these emoji earlier in the month. They will likely go into rotation around June 2016 as part of the Unicode 9.0. update.

The most recent Unicode update featured varied skin tones for faces and same-sex couples.
