Azalea v Azealia: Iggy Sparks New Twitter War With Azealia Banks

Just as peace had seemingly stretched out across the land, a long-dormant feud has come roaring back to life.

Australia’s Iggy Azalea recently spoke to Elle Canada about her disastrous 2015 (which included healthy heapings of backlash, a cancelled tour and this hilarious viral clip of her garbled freestyling). 

"If I could, I would Men in Black memory-erase 2015; I totally would—that would be amazing," she told the mag.

"I think the Azealia Banks thing is what really started it all. We don’t like each other on a personal level, and that has gone on for many years—before the Black Lives Matter incident happened."

There, Azalea is referring to an interview of Azealia Banks in which she tearfully decried Iggy and other white artists for appropriating black culture.

"Even though I still hate Azealia Banks, I wish I had said it in a way that didn’t make people think I was oblivious to the [Black Lives Matter] movement," she continued.

If you thought Azealia (a rapper who last year began a feud with the entirety of Australia) was going to let bygones be bygones, you do not know Azealia Banks very well at all. Banks, who is prepping the imminent release of her new mixtape Slay Z, fired off with a series of Tweets:

Iggy is yet to comment on Azealia’s Tweets, though she did announce her new album's release date, which is likely to intersect with Banks’ upcoming release.
