Hundreds of Baby Animals Are Being Saved From Hurricane Harvey

There aren't a lot of positive stories coming out of Texas at the moment with the state facing devastating flooding from Hurricane Harvey.

But one wildlife rescue organisation is giving everyone a bit of hope.

Austin Wildlife Rescue has saved hundreds of baby animals since the flooding started when Hurricane Harvey hit southeastern Texas.

They've taken in more than 200 baby squirrels and countless bunnies and they are just the darn cutest lil' things.

AWR wrote "[they] had 111 people drop off orphaned and injured animals at our Intake Center," and with resources being stretched thin, they're asking for donations.

Baby squirrels and bunnies haven't been the only animals affected. Fire ants have been seen clinging together, like a fire ant raft (nightmare), in order to survive the raging waters.

Hurricane Harvey hit the state last Friday and has already claimed the lives of 37 with many more expected to be found after the flood waters recede.
