If you’ve previously binged all the seasons of The Walking Dead and its first spin-off Fear The Walking Dead, you’ll want to make room in your brain for the franchises newest series, The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

Nico Tortorella (Younger), Julia Ormond (Gold Digger, Temple Grandin, Mad Men), Australian actor Hal Cumpston (Bilched), Annet Mahendru (The Americans), Alexa Mansour (The Resident), Aliyah Royale (The Red Line) and Nicolas Cantu come together for this spin-off to tell audiences the coming-of-age story of the only generation raised in a post-apocalyptic world, 10 years on from destruction.

The newest instalment of this series follows the lives of two young sisters along with two of their friends as they leave the only home they’ve ever known, a place of safety, to embark on a journey to save their father. They enter a world full of the undead and unknown and trek across-country pursued by many who aim to protect them and others who plan to harm them.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond

The show draws a narrative of growing up, challenging everything they know about themselves and the world around them, so its sure to be an emotional ride.

If you’re unfamiliar with The Walking Dead franchise, we’d suggest spending some time catching up on the original series before committing to this one. You can stream all 10 seasons of the original series on Binge, Foxtel Now, Google Play Movies and Telstra TV. We hope you don’t mind zombies.

The show was originally meant to premiere on April 12 but because of the pandemic, it was postponed to "later this year". In early August we finally received confirmation of the release date: 4 October 2020.

If you’re as excited as we are, you’ll be glad to know that when the show does release next month, it will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
