How to Watch "Moonbase 8" in Australia

Feel like leaving planet Earth?

What kind of people get to go to the Moon? Probably not a trio of has-beens looking to make something of themselves again.

Although, that's exactly what the new comedy series Moonbase 8 is all about.

The show stars Fred Armisen (Portlandia), Tim Heidecker (Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!), and Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story).

It's set in the isolated desert of Winslow, Arizona at NASA's Moon Base Simulator, and follows determined astronauts Skip (Armisen), Rook (Heidecker), and their leader Cap (Reilly), as they attempt to qualify for their very first lunar mission. While working hard to complete their training, a string of unexpected circumstances forces the astronauts to question their own mental sanity, trust in each other, and whether they're actually cut out for space travel.

If you need further convincing, it looks like singer Adam Lambert is set to make an appearance in the series. Search Party's Alia Shawkat can also be spotted in the trailer.

I'm convinced. How can I watch it?

Earlier today, Stan announced that the six-episode series will land on the streaming service on Sunday 8 November, with new episodes airing weekly.

New episodes will premiere on the same day as the United States, which means Aussies won't have to worry too much about spoilers.

The show was first put into development back in April 2018, before finding a home on Showtime in the U.S. in August.

The series was co-created by Heidecker and Jonathan Krisel, who have worked together for years on all the Tim and Eric shows. Reily and Armisen have both appeared on those shoes too, so it makes sense that they're also starring in Moonbase 8.

If you haven't quite caught the trailer yet, check it out below.

Otherwise, prepare to watch some utter chaos unfold from 8 November.
