How to Watch "Clarice" in Australia

It's set one year after The Silence of the Lambs.

Need a good ol' crime drama series to look forward to? Well, look no further than Clarice.

Set one year after The Silence of the Lambs, the show stars Australian actress Rebecca Breeds (The Originals, Pretty Little Liars) as FBI Agent Clarice Stirling and dives deep into her untold personal story as she returns to the field in 1993.

If you haven't seen The Silence of the Lambs and have no clue what we're talking about, let's get you up to speed.

In the 1991 film, Clarice—portrayed by Jodie Foster here—seeks help from Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), a psychopathic cannibal serial killer and former psychiatrist, in order to apprehend another serial killer who has been claiming female victims.

The movie won a bunch of awards, including the Oscar for Best Picture. So, it's safe to say people are pretty excited for Clarice.

Cool, so how can I watch it?

Right, let's get to the point.

Australian viewers will be able to watch Clarice from 12 February on Stan.

The series is created by Star Trek: Discovery executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet. It also stars Michael Cudlitz (The Walking Dead), Lucca de Oliveira (SEAL Team), Kal Penn (House), Nick Sandow (Orange Is the New Black), Devyn Tyler (The Purge), newcomer Marnee Carpenter and Jayne Atkinson (Criminal Minds).

It's important to note, however, that Clarice won't even be able to mention Hannibal Lecter by name due to strict copyright boundaries.

"I'm still trying to understand how the rights are divided," Kurtzman told Entertainment Weekly in December 2020.

"But it's been quite liberating because we have no interest in writing about Hannibal—not because we didn't love the films and the show, but because it was done so well by so many people that it didn't feel fresh for us."

Basically, you won't want to miss this one, okay?
