How to Watch "Bill and Ted Face the Music" in Australia

Remember, be excellent to each other.
This year has felt a little—what’s the word?—apocalyptic, what with the pandemic and general sense that planet Earth is reaching its big season (series?) finale.
But maybe the better word is 'bogus'. Thankfully, the Wyld Stallyns themselves, Bill and Ted, have returned to make the world excellent once again.
This year sees the release of the long-awaited third instalment of the Bill and Ted series, titled Bill and Ted Face the Music. It follows the iconic Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure from 1989 and the less iconic but still decent Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey from 1991 (which at least had the scene in which the Stallyns pull Death’s underpants over his head).
Keanu Reeves returns as Theodore Logan, and Alex Winter (who has been less omnipresent these last few decades but been active as a director behind the scenes) reprises Bill S. Preston for Part 3. This time, an emissary from the future (Kristen Schaal) tells the infamous, now-middle-aged duo that they need to write a song that’ll unite all of humanity. They decide to travel to the future to steal the song from their future selves, leaving their kids (Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine) to go on an excellent adventure of their own, collecting historical icons for their personal band.

When you’ve made the sale, stop selling. How can I watch it in Australia?
Though cinemas in many parts of the world are still closed (hence the constant delaying of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet), Australia has been fortunate enough to reopen its theatres (albeit with social distancing in place).
As a result, Australia will be one of the few nations where Bill & Ted Face the Music will hit the big screen, debuting in cinemas courtesy of Madman Films on 10 September 2020. Check out this page to see which radical theatres near you are going to show the flick.
Will it be available to stream soon as well?
Not immediately in Australia. In America, however, its distributor will drop the film on premium video-on-demand (VOD) services the same day as its US theatrical release: 1 September. In the States, only a few cinemas will be open; that's why VOD is necessary.
We asked Madman Films if Bill & Ted Face the Music will be available to download and stream the same day as its local theatrical release (especially considering the escalating situation in Melbourne), but they told us there are no plans other than the cinema release at this time.
So, to quote Bill and Ted, the best time to be is now, and all else we can say is… let’s rock.
Update: This article was amended to reflect the new release date in September (previously 27 August).
