“The Matrix Resurrections” Trailer Has Dropped and It’s as Mind Boggling as You’d Expect

Neo and Trinity are back for another fight.
A solid 18 years since the last movie was released, Warner Brothers have finally dropped the infamous trailer for the fourth episode in The Matrix franchise: The Matrix Resurrections.
This long-awaited fourth part is bringing back the ever-popular world from the ‘90s and ‘00s, once again reuniting the ever-loved Keanu Reeves as Neo of course, and Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity.
While the original Matrix was set in the late ‘90s, the new flick shows Neo navigate his way through the world we live in today. A society obsessed with smart devices, but it’s not the real world—it’s the Matrix.

Universal describes the film as a “mind-bending new adventure with action and epic scale, it’s set in a familiar yet even more provocative world where reality is more subjective than ever and all that’s required to see the truth is to free your mind.”
Although the new film is set in 2021(ish), we still see the familiar relics of the original movies, including the notorious pills, gun fighting, Matrix bending magic, and of course: the white rabbit, brought to life by visionary filmmaker Lana Wachowski.
Not convinced? Check it out for yourself:
Joining Keanu and Carrie-Anne is a whole list of iconic film stars, including Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Priyanka Chopra (Quantico), Christina Ricci (The Addams Family), Jada Pinkett Smith (A Different World), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Candyman, Aquaman), Jessica Henwick (Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens), Jonathan Groff (Hamilton, Mindhunter), Telma Hopkins (Dead to Me), Eréndira Ibarra (Sense8), Toby Onwumere (Empire), Max Riemelt (Sense8), and Brian J. Smith (Sense8).
From the looks of things, Neo and Trinity no longer remember anything about the Matrix, let alone anything about one another. So, in this latest instalment, they’re starting from scratch.
Whether you grew up watching these classic films as a kid or this is your first brush with them, The Matrix franchise is often touted as the series that made science-fiction popular again. It defined the new millennium with technology and gave us an interesting yet scary take on our understanding of reality.

If you haven’t seen the OG films, I highly suggest going back and watching them before you catch this one. It does not miss! (They’re all available to stream on Netflix btw).
You’ve got heaps of time to catch up too ‘cos the new flick isn’t due to hit cinemas until 1 January 2022 (but to be fair, that is only three months away).
Either way, I can’t wait.
