How to Mentally Reset and Recharge Over Semester Break

Recharge, refocus, and reorganise 🙌

Whether it’s semester one of uni, or term two of high school, it’s time to take a break and re-set.

But a great break is about more than just Netflix marathons (though those are definitely allowed).

Here’s how you can actually make the most of your semester break so you can come back to your next sem/term refreshed.

Relax and re-charge.

It’s important to take some time for yourself during the semester break.

Don’t feel guilty about sleeping in that extra bit longer, or binge watching a new series on Netflix. This time is for you to reset both mentally and physically.

Downtime is just as productive as hustle time when it comes to avoiding burnout.

Get yourself organised.

Future you will thank you for this one.

Use the break to get all your required materials for next semester ready, like textbooks, course outlines and timetables.

Create or clean up your study space, and maybe even get some fresh, new notebooks.

Catch up with family and friends.

Going on break doesn’t mean you have to go M.I.A.

Your break will be a whole lot more enjoyable when you are staying social.

Reach out to your favourite people, family and friends you maybe haven’t seen in a while and organise a day out, coffee catch up or movie night.

Get re-aligned with your goals

The break is a perfect time to get re-aligned with your goals and maybe even create some new ones.

What do you want to achieve next semester? Whether it’s improving your grades, exploring new hobbies, or making new friends, write down your goals and map out a plan.

Things to ask yourself can include, what went well last semester? What could I do better? What new skills do I want to learn?

Get yourself relaxed and ready to take on the second half of the academic year 💪
