How to Level Up Quickly in "Assassin's Creed: Odyssey" (Because You'll Need To)

Some important knowledge for your journey through Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey has been lauded for its gorgeous interpretation of the Greek islands as well as further expanding its RPG elements (right down to the choice of your character's gender).

It's also included some deadly Easter Eggs in the form of killer chickens.

But for all its breakthroughs and beauty, a gamer's still gotta grind.

What this means is that at certain points in the game, you'll need to level up fast to continue on with the main quest. It means you'll have to do a bunch of tasks you might not have usually completed at that time in order to get the XP to continue.

So, in order to help you find some quick tasks to get grinding on, we thought we'd compile a list of things you can do to work your way up those levels stat.

Finish all those side quests.

Yes, while some side quests are just too good to ignore, most of them are relegated to the back of the line while we're in pursuit of grander adventures.

But, when it finally comes to the moment (and it will) where you've exhausted all your main quests because you're too low-levelled, it's time to come back to these side quests because they're usually quick and full of juicy, much-needed XP.

Go on an adventure.

If you're looking for a more casual way to gain XP, why not go on a little exploration around the areas you haven't uncovered yet? Every time you discover a place, you'll get XP whether it's a cave or a little village. Each place will have quests and challenges of its own and it's a mine of XP just waiting to be exploited.

Honestly, it's the easiest and most enjoyable way to earn your XP.

Do some contracts and bounties.

Similar to side quests, these quick adventures can be found on Message Boards around the islands and are another quick way to level up. Work your way through the nearby, easy earnings (usually Grey or Blue) and advance to Purple and Gold contracts for a payload of XP.

Try some conquest battles.

If you're still a few levels behind, try your luck with some conquest battles. In order to start a conquest battle, which are available in each region, you'll need to bring down the region leader's power by undertaking a few sneaky tasks. Use Ikaros, your trusty eagle, to find and burn resource piles and take out captains and important soldiers in forts. Once you've done enough of these tasks in a particular region, you'll be able to take on the leader which means lots of XP.

Odyssey, despite its tendency to make you grind, is still a beautifully crafted and (more importantly) fun game, so if you're finding Red Dead Redemption 2's realism a little too much to handle at times, swap back to what you know and love.

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. You can buy it in stores around Australia or on the Ubisoft store now.
