How to Find the Elusive Fifth Bell in "Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater" School Level

It has ruined us.

Greek mythology tells of the Labours of Hercules, in which the Greek God had slay the nine-headed Lernaean Hydra and capture the Cretan Bull, among other seemingly impossible feats.

And sure, they sound difficult enough. But did he ever have to locate the fifth and final bell on the school map of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater? We didn’t think so.

We had forgotten how frustrating this otherwise minor task was, especially since Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater first came out in the year 1999, which, to put into context, was a time in which we were distracted by the threat of our computers eating us as soon as the clock turned 2000.

With the new remastered edition of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 now out on the PS4, Xbox One and PC, we have been reminded of the joys of this singularly addictive game, as well as the many annoyances, chief among them: Where the hell is that bell?!

If you’ve come here because you’re one bell away from completing the School level, feel no shame. We know you’ve scoured the park and have only Googled "where is it?!" to quiet the screeches that now dominate your mind and loosen your vice-like grip on the controller after many futile days. The answer lies below.

You need to wallride five bells on the first game’s school map… and you can only find four. What gives?

We’re going to assume you found the first bell behind the gym, the second on the wall of South Beach Middle School, the third behind the climbing wall and the fourth next to the ramp.

But where oh where is #5?

You can always view the Goals Camera from the main menu, but they keep the locations of the remaining items intentionally vague. Instead, you need the assistance of the internet’s brave explorers, who have been there before.

Check it out:

That’s right, the cheeky fifth bell is on the roof of the orange building, which you can get to by either jumping over the ramp next to the cafeteria, or by grinding up from the ramp and using a combo to get all the way up top. There she is, in all her bell-like beauty, at 00:42 in the above clip.

Skate genie, you’re free.
