How to Find Delfino Plaza from "Super Mario Sunshine" in "Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater"

It’s a-me, Tony Hawk.

Just when you thought the influx of Super Mario nostalgia was dying down, a massive fan of Super Mario Sunshine has recreated Delfino Plaza in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2. A combination we never knew we needed.

Gunderstank_16 shared his master creation on Reddit with his skater literally dressed as Mario. Yes, a human sized Mario (my eyes are burning).

The description of his video reads, "Been playing a lot of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and Super Mario 3D All Stars back to back.”

“Figured I'd mess around in the editor for a while and see if I could actually remake Delfino Plaza from Super Mario Sunshine.”

Just "messing around", he didn’t realise he’d make all of our Mario and Tony Hawk dreams come true. The replica includes some of Delfino Plaza’s most iconic landmarks such as the Shine Gate and Boathouse.

Surprisingly, the build isn’t a mod. Gunderstank_16 actually made it in the game’s official park editor so lucky for us, anyone can access and play it.

You can access the map on the PlayStation 4 version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 by searching "Delfino Plaza" but there is unfortunately no cross-format sharing of custom designed maps (yet) so once again, Xbox and PC players are losing out to PlayStation.

While the plaza remake is built to look like a replica, it does miss out on some of the exact graphical detail from the original game. Fortunately, railings and ramps have been placed all around the park to help you get through tunnels, over waterways and of course become a pro skater.

The build took four days to finish and Gunderstank_16 has plans to work on even more Mario-themed maps in the future (*crosses fingers for Peach’s Castle from Super Mario 64*).

More map builds like this are expected due to the games high sales. Activision confirmed in a tweet in September that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 set records as the fastest game to reach 1 million sales in the franchise history.
