How to Download Two Free PlayStation 4 Games (Including "Uncharted") to "Play At Home"

The deal lasts until 5 May.

Sony really wants you to stay indoors during this whole coronavirus pandemic. In fact, they’ll even give you two free games to help pass the time.

As part of their "Play at Home" initiative, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is letting PlayStation owners download two games for free.

Sony has given away games to PlayStation Plus subscribers previously, but those are only for the duration of their subscription. These downloads are for everyone, and yours to keep forever.

The two games on offer are technically four games. That’s because one of the downloads is Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, which includes the first three legendary instalments of the Uncharted saga: Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves and Drake’s Deception. All of these have been remastered for PS4.

The second download is the acclaimed adventure mystery Journey.

(Uncharted isn’t available to users in Germany and China, but they can download Knack 2 instead, as well as Journey.)

Users have until 8pm PDT on 5 May to redeem their free downloads.

To get them, simply search for either Uncharted or Journey in the PlayStation Store, and you'll see they're listed for free download. You'll still have to add it to your basket and check out; you'll even still get a receipt from the PlayStation Store (for $0.00). But it's really that easy.

According to a blog post from SIE President and CEO Jim Ryan, the second component to their "Play At Home" initiative is to help smaller independent studios facing financial difficulties. Sony has created a $10 million support fund for those games studios, with participation criteria coming soon.
