How the Turntables Have Turned: “The Office” Is Coming Back (Without Steve Carell)

Just like Will & Grace, Arrested Development and Gilmore Girls before it...

The Office will rise again.

According to the TVLine, NBC (the American network that originally remade the BBC version of The Office) is looking to bring back their hit show for at least one more season.

The program previously wrapped-up its nine-season run in 2013. Star Steve Carell, however, left at the conclusion of Season Seven.

Unfortunately, the network already knows Carell—who graduated to the ranks of movie stardom and Oscar nominationtude—won’t be back. Instead, they’ll look for “a new star” to play the regional manager of Dunder Mifflin (aka the people person’s paper people).

They also plan to mix old cast-members with new ones.

Though NBC declined to comment on the story to TVLine, they’re apparently planning to bring the show back for the 2018 – 2019 season.

It’s not known how many of the returning cast-members will return. For instance: Didn’t Jim and Pam (and Daryl) ride off into the Philadelphian/Texan sunset? And isn’t Erin busy on a little show called Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt?
